Introduction
ARYZTA explicitly forbids any form of forced, bonded, involuntary, or indentured labour, including modern slavery and prison labour as defined in International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions and national laws.
This statement outlines the steps we have taken and continue to take to combat modern slavery, in compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. More information on our Global approach can be found in our ARYZTA Supplier Code of Conduct at 2024-02-22_Supplier Code of Conduct.pdf (aryzta.com)
Our Policy
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are dedicated to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings. Our policies reflect our commitment to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
ARYZTA is fully committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations required in the conduct of its business, including in relation to due diligence obligations in its supply chain and child labour law requirements. As part of this commitment, the ARYZTA Supplier Code of Conduct has been put in place to set the standards which ARYZTA expects its Suppliers, their employees, agents, subcontractors, and other representatives to respect and adhere to when conducting their business dealings.
Due Diligence Processes
To identify and mitigate the risks of modern slavery, we have implemented the following due diligence processes:
- Supplier Vetting: All suppliers are expected and requested to comply with the Aryzta Supplier Code of Conduct as a pre-requisite to trading.
- Audits and Assessments: via Sedex, audits are out carried, risks are assessed.
- Training: We provide training to our employees and suppliers to raise awareness about modern slavery and how to identify and report it.
Risk Assessment and Management
We regularly assess the risks of modern slavery in our operations and supply chains. This includes, identifying areas of our supply chains that are at higher risk of modern slavery and collaborating with stakeholders, including suppliers, to address and mitigate risks.
Measuring Effectiveness
To ensure the effectiveness of our anti-slavery measures, we continuously monitor and review our policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and up to date. In addition, we provide clear reporting mechanisms for employees and suppliers to report any concerns related to modern slavery.
Conclusion
We are dedicated to ensuring that modern slavery has no place in our business or supply chains. This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our modern slavery and human trafficking statement.
